Activists tie up with US anti-radiation groups

MUMBAI: Anti-radiation activists from Mumbai have joined hands with US-based citizens' groups—Grassroots Environmental Education and Environmental Health Trust—in the global protest against Electromagnetic Field Radiation (EMF) radiation from mobile towers and mobile phones.

The two non-profit environmental health organizations on Tuesday hosted an event titled ''Baby Safe'' in New York, and Mumbai activists, along with actress Juhi Chawla, pledged their support to the campaign. In a media statement, Chawla said, ''India is joining hands with US and other countries of the world to create awareness of the EMF radiation health hazards.''
