LTE in Western Europe: only Spain without commercial LTE
This research brief is a sequel to the Western European mobile spectrum auctions and LTE developments brief published in January 2012. This brief provides an overview of the auctions held since then as well as upcoming spectrum auctions focusing on 800 MHz and 2600 MHz spectrum. It also includes regulatory decisions to open other frequencies, mostly 1800 MHz for LTE use.

UK.
AAuctions were held in Ireland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, auctions will be held in Finland, Norway and Austria before the end of 2013 with Belgium remaining as only country where 800 MHz spectrum's future is unclear. At the same time launches of commercial LTE services have been going in all in countries, except Spain where operators are waiting on the availability of 800 MHz spectrum as the analogue TV switch off is planned for January 2014..
