CTIA--The Wireless Association has created an Infographic allegedly to provide tips to parents regarding children's safe cell phone use. However, the Infographic appears to be a marketing tool to guilt trip parents into buying cell phones for their young children.

The Infographic fails to mention that many health scientists and medical doctors believe that cell phone use among is harmful to children due to exposure to the microwave radiation emitted by these devices. Nor does it mention that 15 nations have issued precautionary health warnings about cell phones, and that most recommend limited or no cell phone use by children because the child's brain absorbs far more microwave radiation than the adult brain.

According to the Infographic, the majority (56%) of American children 8-12 years of age have a cell phone, and more then three-fourths (77%) of teens 12-17 have one.

American children begin to use cell phone at a very young age. 10% of 0-1 year olds, 39% of 2-4 year olds, 54% of 5-8 year olds, and 70% under 12 years of age have used a mobile device in their lifetime.

What will it take to make the CTIA behave more responsibly?
