Spanje: 200 omwonenden ondervinden toenemende gezondheidsklachten bij zendmast in Malaga

Meer dan 200 omwonenden in Torrox. Oost-Malaga, klagen over de gezondheidsproblemen die een zendmast in hun directe omgeving, de enige zender in de bebouwde kom, zou veroorzaken. De laatste maanden protesteren zij mede door het toenemend aantal ziektegevallen en de woordvoerder van de omwonenden, Jose David Ruiz, stelt dat hele families in vrees leven omdat hun kinderen, terwijl ze er een gezonde levensstijl op na houden, toch tumoren hebben gekregen. Duizend handtekeningen zijn verzameld om de gemeente te vragen de mast te verplaatsen uit de bebouwde kom naar de landelijke omgeving:

Torrox residents protest over phone mast

More than 200 residents at the Generacion del 27 Urbanization between Torrox Costa and El Morche are complaining that a phone mast is causing is making people sick and causing tumours.

Over the past two months, they have begun to protest due to the increasing number of health problems they are experiencing which they believe to be directly related to the existence of a mobile phone mast just 50 metres from some of their homes. The spokesman, Jose David Ruiz, claim that families are living in fear as children and youths with healthy lifestyles have developed tumours.

They have gathered their signatures and those of around 1,000 other residents in the area which they intend to take to Torrox Town Hall to demand that a report be carried out.

They complain that it is the only mast within a residential area in the town and that the man who lives closest has suffered insomnia, headaches and extreme fatigue since it was installed. The residents explain that the is a lot of rural land in Torrox and that they understand that the mast is necessary and therefore suggest that it be moved to a more adequate and less populated area.
