SCENHIR (Scientific Com. on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks) actualiseert haar opinie. Stopumts ontving het volgende persbericht: Dear Sir or Madam, This is to inform you that the European Commission's independent Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) has adopted its opinion on possible health effects of electromagnetic fields (EMF). The Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) is one of the three independent non-food committees managed by Directorate Health and Consumer Protection of the European Commission. It provides scientific advice to the Commission on issues related to e.g. new technologies, medical devices, physical risks and methodologies of risk assessment. Community scientific advisory procedures are based on the principles of scientific excellence, independence and transparency. Commentaar Stopumtys: Langzaamaan verschuiven ze bij SCENHIR hun oordeel. Geen ontkenning meer dat er onderzoek bestaat waarbij wél effecten worden gevonden, maar 'het is onzeker of het gezondheidsgevolgen heeft' (nou, niet goed slapen heeft echt wel negatieve gevolgen), 'we weten niet hoe het werkt' en 'niet alle onderzoeken consistent dezelfde effecten' (tsja, er zijn veel bronnen met verschillende parameters en tussen mensen bestaan ook verschillen; eenzelfde mens kan nu eens wel gevolgen ondervinden van effecten van de ene en niet van de andere bron en andersom - als je niet begrijpt hoe het werkt kun je proeven ook niet exact repliceren en kunnen sommige onderzoekers wel effecten vinden en andere niet, met of zonder negatieve gevolgen). Vooral onderstaande cirkelredenering is erg mooi. Qua domheid en onwetenschappelijkheid had het de Gezondheidsraad niet misstaan... ''A recent study on a big Danish cohort found that children aged seven whose mothers had used mobile phones either during or after pregnancy had increased overall scores for behavioral problems (Divan et al. 2008). In light of the very low exposure to the children that would occur as a consequence of the mothers’ use of the phone during or after pregnancy it is doubtful that RF exposure from mobile telephony could have anything to do with the observed association. Yet, the explanation for this association is unknown at this time.'' En verder geen enkele aandacht aan de epidemiologische studies van Hutter en dergelijke.. Oh, en natuurlijk blijft 'verder onderzoek noodzakelijk, want het zou kunnen dat toch ....',
